About the Search for AMHIC’s Next Executive Director

After a deep discovery process to identify the organization’s most critical business issues and strategic priorities, Staffing Advisors sought an experienced executive to develop and implement a strategic vision for AMHIC’s future, leverage connections within the nonprofit community to drive targeted membership growth, effectively navigate changes in the regulatory environment and healthcare insurance market, and maintain exceptional value for members.

The search was led by Staffing Advisors Founder & President, Bob Corlett, with the support of Vice President of Operations and Strategy, Brooke Lockhart, and the entire Staffing Advisors team.

Working closely with the search committee, board, and key stakeholders, Staffing Advisors surfaced several key focus areas in which the new leader would drive impact. A summary of each is listed below:

  • Strategic Vision and Implementation. Collaborate with the board to develop strategies that support financial stability and overall organizational health, ensuring alignment with AMHIC’s mission and service-focused values. Implement innovative approaches to optimize staff and vendor operations, enhance member benefit services, and achieve sustainable growth.
  • Board Governance. Leverage the board’s diverse expertise to address complex challenges in the health insurance landscape. Proactively identify emerging issues, provide thorough information and analysis, and facilitate productive, action-oriented discussions, ensuring appropriate follow-up to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Financial Stewardship. Strengthen AMHIC’s financial position by effectively managing costs, staying current on industry trends, and navigating complex claims. Ensure AMHIC continues to provide exceptional benefits programs to members despite rising healthcare costs, including those from new treatments, specialty drugs, expanded mental health services, increased claims post-COVID, and other market developments.
  • Relationship Building. Cultivate effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including board members, AMHIC members, vendor partners, and service providers. Leverage connections within the nonprofit community to identify and pursue peer-to-peer marketing opportunities. Maintain clear and consistent communication to uphold AMHIC’s high standards of service across all levels.
  • Regulatory Compliance. Ensure AMHIC meticulously adheres to all legal and regulatory requirements, being mindful of the broader political and regulatory landscape to prevent any actions that could result in pressure to change AMHIC’s operational model.

The Staffing Advisors team was honored to support AMHIC in this important leadership transition. We have also partnered with AMHIC in the selection of a Director of Finance.
