About the Search for the Oncology Nursing Society’s Next CFO
After a deep discovery process to identify the organization’s most critical business issues and strategic priorities, Staffing Advisors sought a data-driven, strategic executive with expertise in market analysis, financial forecasting, and pricing models to support ONS’s expansion and ensure the organization’s continued growth.
The new leader would be stepping into an organization with a long history of serving individual practitioners and a vision to expand into new markets with B2B product development aimed at supporting cancer care institutes, cancer programs, and healthcare organizations that provide oncology services. They would lead the organization’s finance, contracts, facilities, and business development functions.
The search was led by Staffing Advisors Founder & President, Bob Corlett, with the support of Vice President of Operations and Strategy, Brooke Lockhart, and the entire Staffing Advisors team.
Working closely with the ONS’s leadership, Staffing Advisors surfaced several key focus areas that would demonstrate success within the new leader’s first 1-2 years:
- Redefine ONS’s business development approach to ensure sustainable growth. Develop and implement innovative pricing models for ONS’s suite of products, aligning them with market trends and the organization’s strategic goals.
- Elevate financial planning and analysis beyond budget stewardship. Leverage data to drive decision-making and take advantage of new opportunities. Act as a discerning gatekeeper, critically evaluating each initiative to ensure only the most viable and financially sound are pursued.
- Carefully steward investments in collaboration with an external investment management partner. Use their expertise, combined with deep knowledge of the organization, to ensure investment strategies meet the current and future needs of each entity. Work to further strengthen the financial stability of the Foundation.
