CEO Searches

“When our long-time Executive Director and CEO announced his departure, I knew immediately I was about to undertake the most difficult task of my 25 year volunteer service in finding his successor. It was critically important to me that we approached the process in a deliberate and thoughtful manner, even with a very aggressive timeline. I also knew that to ensure we found the best possible candidate to lead our incredible staff and to work well with our volunteer leaders , we would need to engage an executive search firm to open a highly competitive national search. Our Executive Committee interviewed a number of search firms and settled on two possibilities. As the President leading the effort, the decision was left to me.

It was important to me to be able to trust and have a natural rapport with the team with whom I would be working so closely with; that is why I chose Staffing Advisors. It was clear from the beginning that Bob and his team had taken the time to research our association and that they were making an effort to understand our unique needs.

For five months, I worked directly with Bob Corlett, the CEO and Brooke Lockhart, the Director of Operations on our search. I could not have been happier with their willingness to jump on a video call at almost a moment's notice if I had a question or concern. Bob and Brooke were both incredibly responsive, even responding to an email early on a Sunday morning when I had an issue. Our search was incredibly complex due to the different governance requirements of our Association, and we definitely approached the search process differently than I imagine most associations have done.
