About the Search for ADLM’s Next Chief Membership and Market Development Officer
After a deep discovery process to identify the organization’s most critical business issues and strategic priorities, Staffing Advisors sought an executive to boost the organization’s growth and market presence, creating strategies for market, revenue, and membership expansion in line with ADLM’s strategic plan. The new leader would oversee the marketing/membership, communications/PR, and corporate relations functions. They would be stepping into an organization with established relationships with corporate partners and the scientific community, extensive data on new market opportunities, and expert staff. Their challenge would be to apply an entrepreneurial mindset and deep knowledge of the association market to identify, evaluate, and pursue promising opportunities and lead cross-functional growth initiatives.
The search was led by Staffing Advisors Vice President of Executive Search Aileen Hedden, with strategy consulting from Founder & President Bob Corlett and support from the entire Staffing Advisors team.
Working closely with the ADLM’s leadership, Staffing Advisors surfaced several key focus areas that would demonstrate success within the new leader’s first 1-2 years:
- Strategic Market Expansion. Identify opportunities to diversify revenue streams beyond the annual conference and trade show. Leverage relationships with non-member event attendees and professionals in adjacent fields to expand membership and non-member customer markets.
- Enhancing Collaboration Across Teams. Break down silos and foster better integration and collaboration among teams to harness existing skills and drive coordinated initiatives.
- Data-Driven Decision Making and Program Effectiveness. Use data to drive decision-making, ensuring resources are allocated for maximum impact, and initiatives generate a strong return on investment. Scale successful programs while reengineering or discontinuing others for sustainable growth.
The Staffing Advisors team was honored to support ADLM in this important leadership transition. Since 2022, we have partnered with ADLM on several key roles, including a Chief Executive Officer and a Chief Financial Officer.
