About the Search for Reseach!America’s Next Vice President of Development
After a deep discovery process to identify the organization’s most critical business issues and strategic priorities, Staffing Advisors sought an experienced development executive to secure financial support through direct solicitation of membership dues, signature event sponsorships, individual contributions, program partnerships, and grants. The new leader would be joining Research!America at a time of growth with the goal of substantially increasing the organization’s revenue by leading key initiatives, including the launch of an individual annual giving program to build a pipeline for major donors and endowment contributions.
The search was led by Staffing Advisors Vice President of Executive Search Aileen Hedden, with strategy consulting from Founder & President Bob Corlett and support from the entire Staffing Advisors team. The leadership profile included knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
- Designing and executing diversified revenue strategies across sponsorships, foundations, individual giving, and program partnerships.
- Stewarding board and committee engagement in fundraising and membership growth.
- Managing national convenings and high-visibility events.
- Overseeing stakeholder communications and sponsor relations.
- Leading data-informed constituent and membership strategy.
- Building organizational capacity through staff leadership and cross-functional partnership within a national science and health policy advocacy environment.
The Staffing Advisors team was honored to support Reseach!America in this important leadership transition. We have also partnered with Research!America on other key roles, including a Senior Director of Finance and Administration and a Senior Director of Communications.
