Director of Medical Education

Cardiovascular CT has become one of the most effective non-invasive tools for diagnosing coronary artery disease and preventing avoidable cardiac events. As the leading international professional society dedicated exclusively to cardiovascular computed tomography, with members in more than 100 countries, the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) is advancing research, improving education, and driving broader clinical integration of cardiovascular CT into routine patient care worldwide. In support of this work, SCCT is seeking a Director of Medical Education to lead the strategy and evolution of its educational programs across in-person, virtual, and on-demand formats for both U.S. and international audiences.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and supervising one direct report, you will work in close partnership with the Director of Meetings and Events and others to connect education strategy with program delivery across the Global Meeting and other conferences, workshops, symposia, technologist courses, and webinars. You will work with committees and member task forces as the primary sources of clinical content and program ideas, while serving as the staff lead responsible for portfolio cohesion, track development, and integration across SCCT’s educational programming, including all CME-accredited activities. You will also bring relevant innovation from clinical and industry education environments into mission-driven, physician-led learning that supports SCCT’s global membership and advances patient care.

Balancing strategic leadership with hands-on work, you will leverage SCCT’s learning management system, support high-quality educational programming, and explore new approaches to accredited on-demand learning and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence. As part of SCCT’s global reach, you will help expand access to education for members worldwide and ensure programs remain relevant and responsive to an international clinical community. You will join SCCT at a moment of tangible momentum, building on innovative initiatives already in progress, such as virtual reality training for technologists, a structured masterclass program, the development of an interactive case-based course, and the expansion of co-sponsored education with mission-aligned partners.

How You’ll Make an Impact

SCCT operates at the intersection of clinical innovation and physician education, with a growing need to serve clinicians across multiple subspecialties, career stages, and geographies. Its education portfolio plays a central role in advancing clinical adoption while also supporting the Society’s long-term sustainability and growth. Leadership in this position will shape how SCCT delivers value to its members and the broader cardiovascular CT community in support of its 2025–2030 strategic plan. Success in your first 1-2 years will be demonstrated by:

  • A clearly defined and forward-looking education roadmap that brings structure to SCCT’s in-person, virtual, and on-demand offerings, reduces duplication, and reflects how different clinical audiences engage with learning.
  • Progress toward reaching new clinical audiences, such as referring clinicians, emergency physicians, primary care providers, and general cardiologists, through tailored education on the optimal use and implementation of cardiovascular CT.
  • The continued maturation of SCCT’s co-sponsored and Endorsed Courses models, enabling external organizations and expert volunteers to deliver high-quality education aligned with SCCT standards while expanding the Society’s reach.

Work Environment, Salary, and Benefits

  • This role is fully remote with East Coast core working hours and flexible options. At times, you may need to be available for early morning or evening meetings with stakeholders in other time zones and for occasional weekend hours to attend and evaluate education programs. • The budgeted salary range for this position is $120K–$135K with an outstanding benefits package. This includes generous PTO (three weeks of vacation, increasing to four after one year, 12 paid public holidays, and sick leave); employer-provided medical and dental plans or a stipend if you choose to waive coverage; life, AD&D, and disability insurance; a 403(b) with a 7.5% employer contribution; home office equipment; and reimbursement for cell phone and Wi-Fi.
  • You’ll be joining a mission-driven, collegial, and forward-looking team that holds high standards for performance balanced with respect and support for our lives outside of work.
